Welcome to Starting Out, the section for Beginners

'Starting out' means 'beginning', and this section is for Beginner and Pre-Intermediate level students.

This month you can hear people asking for and giving directions in listening. 

In the speaking section there is a pronunciation dictionary.

The writing section has a link to a forum where you can write to other people learning English.

In  reading you can read about Venice, a city with no cars.

The grammar  section practises prepositions of place and in vocabulary you can learn some driving vocabulary. 

Each section has links to activities especially chosen for students who are new to learning English.
