Welcome to Starting Out, the section for Beginners

'Starting out' means 'beginning', and this section is for Beginner and Pre-Intermediate level students.

This month you can hear two people talking about their typical days in listening. 

The speaking section helps you learn the sounds of English.

The writing, section has a fun way of giving a self introduction.

In reading you can read a story about two Spanish students visiting England for the first time.

The grammar  section studies demonstratives (this, that, these, those) and in vocabulary you can play a game with greeting expressions in English and Spanish. 

Each section has links to activities especially chosen for students who are new to learning English.
